Say Yes To The Dress Silhouette

I am a fan of bridal shows such as Say Yes to the Dress, and Four Weddings. Although all of us watching may be adamant that we won't be that bride who has no idea what kind of dress we want.....good for you if you accomplish this. I personally have no idea what I would want in a wedding dress but I know that every female should at least be familiar with the common silhouette's and how they look on your body, in ANY dress. Here are the most popular wedding dress silhouettes:

And Then There Was Light!

Candlelight adds the perfect ambiance to any wedding event. Whether you use small votive candles around the perimeter of your ceremony space, or pillar candles as the focus of your centerpiece, candles add to the romantic fell of your day. Here are a few of my favorite décor looks with candles as the focus.

Don't Stop Believing.....In Bands! (Did you get it?)

As I stood in Smash Studios in Manhattan, listening to the showcases of the bands of Elan Artists, I tart to wonder....What happened to the days when the excitement of the event you go to, whether a school function or a wedding, were a result of the live entertainment that would e supplied. the age of the wedding band is not gone yet! Wedding bands hold an energy and intimacy that DJs just can't produce. The interaction and ability to read a crowd is the biggest benefits of a band (plus the random 15 seconds of fame singing with the band). A reception can be divided between a DJ and a band: keeping the guests on their toes and playing something for everyone. I truly enjoyed the mash-ups of Top40 hits, old R&B, Motown, Rock & Roll and 80's hits. Check out the website and look at all the bands. I had the privilege of hearing Djore, The Elements and a new group Sound House.

Budget Survival Tip: Florals - Hydrangea

Flowers are a major part of most wedding décor. It is in every room, in every ceremony, and in every guests eyesight. You don't have to spend thousands of dollars on large centerpieces completely covered in roses, or orchids. A great way to save some money without skimping on beauty is using hydrangea. Hydrangea not only gives fullness to a centerpiece, bouquet or any décor, but it is less expensive and comes in a variety of colors. You can always find hydrangea year-round. Adding roses, orchids, succulents, or ranunculus to a bouquet of hydrangea creates a stunning composition that will look like a thousand bucks to all of your guests. Here are some hydrangea décor ideas:

BACHELORETTE PARTIES JUST GOT SWEETER, WITH STYLE!

Bachelorette parties have been the most exciting event that the bride's friends prepare for once they hear the words "I'm engaged!" (The wedding day is a close 2nd). Whether a intimate night of games and stories, or a night on  the town in the stretch limo, cocktails/mocktails are always a great addition to the night. Dellcovespices' shop on Etsy.com offers a great way to make bachelorette parties even more fun.....if even possible! Dellcovespices offers an array of colored, and some flavored, salt and sugar for creative garnishing for great prices. These colored additions can be used to add to a color scheme, used for a creative game, or just used because they are so darn pretty. In flavors like coffee, and birthday cake, these edible decorations can also be used with your cup of hot chocolate for a cozy night in. Here are some colors offered by Dellcovespices and inspiration:

Romantic Red Wedding Board

I did this wedding board inspired by my friend from school. She was an art major, with a love for the Phantom of the Opera: the architecture, the scenery, the fashion. This is what she hopes her wedding will be inspired by in the future, and for fun, I created a wedding board. I was happy that she liked it, because she was one tough customer!
