Decor Ideas: Flower Walls

Flower walls are a creative decor choice that provide the perfect background for any picture. The wall may be made of paper flowers or real ones, equally beautiful, and equally unique, a wall of flowers can either be posh or ethereal, perfectly complimenting the feel of your special day. Paper flowers are less expensive than real flowers, but a great option that paper flowers have over real flowers is the opportunity to use colored lighting to transform the wall and focus on its beauty.

Don't only use the wall for one part of the day! Get the most out of the wall and re-purpose the wall for your reception as well as your ceremony. Place it against a wall  as the background for guests to take pictures before or place it behind the Sweetheart table highlighting the married couple. Here are some looks to give you some ideas of incorporating a flower wall into your day:

Winter Wedding Wonderland

Winter weddings are synonymous with "wonder" and "romance". To create a winter wonderland for your special event, pay attention to details that will bring your event to another level and will have your guests gasping in awe.

Colors are a big part of any event. To translate the beauty of winter, a mixture of gold, silver and metallic colors create a gorgeous palette for any event. White is always great for winter-themed events, but to add something special, incorporate some metallic place settings, or alternating overlays in silver and gold.

Lighting can make or break an event, setting the mood for the night. Candles, chandeliers and up-lighting can add more to your decor than you may think. Add some coziness with some candlesticks in crystal candlestick holders, or cool down the decor with some unique chandeliers.

Don't limit yourself to satin and polycotton linens. Incorporate fur, sequin and suede into your decor. Using fur as your table-runner or as your chair covers is a small change that adds an elegant look to your event.

A unique centerpiece resembles falling snowflakes.

The blue light creates a winter wonderland, creating a winter forest indoors.

The tablecloth is a perfect amount of sparkle to this white place setting.

Using unique chandeliers and fur chair covers have turned this into an elegant winter affair.

Creative Decor Tip - Use Succulents!

I was very shocked as I was writing a proposal at one of my past internships, that my supervisor's notes stated 'succulents'. Thinking that this was an odd description for a flower arrangement, I quickly questioned what she meant. After I learned more about this unique and understated plant, I instantly thought it was very ingenious to use this plant that could easily be overlooked and make something beautiful for someone's special day.

Succulents are a type of plant, commonly with a thick out layer that are beneficial for storing water for a long period of time. Cacti and Aloe are two types of succulent plants. Succulents Sempervivums are the common choice for decorators. They are available in different colors, including pink, purple, red and green, and the formation of the cushions are unique and attractive. Succulents add a unique beauty to any wedding decor. They can be left in their natural state or spray painted gold. They can be incorporated into the ceremony, the reception or given as favors for guests. The uses of these plants are endless! Here are some ideas that I thought were really creative and only enhanced the natural beauty of these plants:

The succulents almost look like they are naturally gold. The work perfectly in this bouquet.

Individual potted succulents are easy to maintain and a nice change from candles.

Also a great Holiday Party idea!
